Lunch with the mission president -- Mon, Sep 26, 2022

 This week was pretty sweet, lots of good finding lots of good stuff. Probably would recommend but idk. Anyways you know the drill


MIRACLES/TM:

"She's dead":
We went to this apartment complex to contact one of our friends that lived there, she answered and we set up a time to come and teach her but we decided to go knock on this one random door and no answer 😔. But there was this lady across the way who shouted at us and told us the lady that lived there was actually...dead. We were like well darn, would you like to hear a message about Jesus Christ? And she said yes!!!! So we shared with her about the Book of Mormon and were gonna meet with her again tonight so please pray for Domoninique!

Scary contact becomes very good: 
So there we were out contacting when we came across this one person on area book and we were like lets knock on her door. So we read some of the past contacts and lets just say her BF doesnt like us....but we were like "well wesa here so let's do it." This dude answers with one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen and were like "uh oh." So we asked if the person we were looking for was there and she actually moved so we asked if they'd wanna hear a message and he said yes but it wasn't a great time. So were going back soon 😀 

FUN STORIES:

Lunch with the MP:
On thursday we had interviews and our distirct council is up in Terre Haute which is an hour and a half away so like a whoke lot of miles. So we rode up with presidnet and sister Riding, and they are literally some of the chillest people ive ever met like so chill! They even took us out to lunch which was pretty good (mom I think pres dawg sent you a picture). we went to a place called Bob Evans. Pretty cool people! 😎🧗‍♂️

UPDATES:

Sam: Sam came to church yesterday which was awesome and we also are planning on going over and watching confrence with her and her husband Andrew so that's cool.

Bunny: She's as crazy as ever but doing good

Cynario: She's doing well working a whole lot so she's pretty tired and stuff but she's been reading the book of mormon which is awesome! She's also doing really well with smoking as well!

Jason: doing well, not much to really report other then that though.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
This week's spiritual thought is more of an invitation and that is that General Confrence is this weekend so go watch it! And for a second invitation is to prepare a question for it and I promise that it will be answered well you watch!

 That's right folks, only four days left till I enter the field and I couldn't be more pumped. I am gonna miss my freaking awesome district though, no cap. but there's actually a few stories from this week so buckle up folks this email might be the longest one yet, a whole two paragraphs. Kickball: On Friday we played kickball with another district who was in our residency building just across the hall from us and it was tons of fun, but we lost miserably by like fifteen points. But I still had tons of fun. After the game the Elders from the district we played with came to give us a box of donuts to say sorry for absolutely destroying you, and in the box there was a single, solitary "L" shaped donut, it was a very well done prank. Miracle Muncie Baby!!

  Henlo everyone this week was pretty cool and Good I'd say. We had some pretty dope miracles met with most of our friends, planning on putting some people on date this next week...so like things are on the up and up over here! Here's some stuff MIRACLES: First Floor Last Door: We went knocking right before a lesson at this one apartment complex that was really close to the lesson and holy smokes   so we were knocking and kinda had a rough start but we knock on this one guys door, his name is Terry. We asked if he'd wanna hear a message and he was like "sure" so like usual we checked to see if we heard him right and then taught the restoration to him, gave him a Book of Mormon, asked if we could come back and he said yes. So were going back on Saturday! First p day

Hey everyone well it's only been three days but it feels like a lot has happened in just those three days, I met my district and comp and they're all really awesome people! My companion is Elder Kennedy and he is super chill. I can't wait to meet everyone in person though when I go to the Provo MTC this Wednesday, because right now it still feels kind of weird being at home even though I've been set apart as a missionary, I don't know quite how to explain it but it feels very surreal. Monday it felt like I was almost dreaming, because I've been anxiously waiting for this day to finally come for like a long time and now that it's here it feels so weird.  I know God loves you all and that He can help us through any trials we're facing, he's helped me a lot adjusting to missionary life! I invite you all to read D&C 121: 7-8 because they are really awesome verses that have helped me a ton this week. Anyways love you all.  -Elder Roberts
