STORY TIME:
Funniest Door Knock:
So here's probably one of the funniest things that's happened to me for a little while but we were out tracting doing our thing. We knocked on this one ladies door and she was like "nah" so we went to the next door, as missionaries do. Suddenly out of nowhere we start hearing a song, and a women belting out the words to this song. It started with talking about Christ and stuff and I was thinking "oh, boy here we go again" but then it starts talking about people sailing across the sea and at this point I'm like hold up. And then the next words our "I'm a Mormon, and Mormons just believe" and so both me and Elder Johnston just starting laughing. The lady who just told us "nah" went out of her way to start playing this song full blast and belting out the words to try and get our goat but I just thought it was hilarious ππ
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
This week's spiritual thought is going to relate to the new year! π₯Ά so something we've been sharing with members around here is in Luke 2:16-17. I'm pretty positive I've share it with you all but that's was most likely a year ago so imma do it again.
16 And they came with HASTE, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning
My favorite words in the Scriptures are the ones that don't necessarily need to be there but are because there's a reason for them! I love the word haste in the context of the shephards because I'm sure they could have thought of some pretty good excuses not to go right away to see the baby Jesus. Similarly throughout the course of a year its very easy to make up just about any excuses of why we too can't go "see" our Savior. So my invitation for you all this week and honestly for this year is to find one way you can more fully come with Haste to Jesus Christ this year. I promise you as you do you will feel the light of Christ enter with great power into each of your lives!
That's all for this week folks! Love you all and remember keep fighting that good fight!
