Caroling, cops, and a baseball bat Dec 20,2021
Well hello everyone this week was pretty crazy...lots of good stuff! Lots of crazy stuff! And a whole lot of singing! Here's some of the miracles and stories:
Pre-earth life encounters?:
Well on Monday after I sent last week's email already me and Elder Cook went shopping as you do on p day and we saw this short elderly lady trying to reach for something that was on the top shelf and she was struggling just a little bit, so
of course we offered our assistance. She then started talking with us and was like "yeah I think I recognise you guys, you knocked on my door 2 or 3 years ago" and we explained how there's been missionaries in the area basically like always. She then said "no you two knocked on my door" and of course we haven't been out on our missions for 2 or 3 years so we were like "ummm I don't think so" but she was determined it was ether us or maybe our siblings which of course it couldn't have been. But we asked for her number and she gave us her address and we set up a time to go over and talk with her again, but she wasn't home when we went over

Angry Baseball bat man:
On Wednesday me and Elder Cook went to an apartment complex to try knocking and there was a guy in a wheel chair who we went and talked to and right from the start he was not happy to see us. We said hello and he said "what do you want" and so we explained how we were going around trying to spread some Christmas cheer by singing songs about Christ and this man lost his mind. He started yelling at us to get off the property and how we're selling our religion so we start to leave, but the way we had went wasn't an exit so we had to turn around and go back towards him and he was like "why are you still here, you have two minutes to get off the property or I'm calling the cops. Don't make me get my Baseball bat!!!!" And we were like "ok were leaving" and then he just started yelling "SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!" It was a very funny experience!
Knocking door success:
Also on Wednesday we went and knocked some doors in another place (not the apartments) and we actually met two people who we basically taught the restoration to and who agreed to have us back so that was pretty awesome!! We got one of there numbers as well so that was pretty dope too!
"Oh I wonder where they're going":
In that same neighborhood were we found the two ladies who agreed to have us back, we had knocked this one door and no one answered so we assumed no one was home...Well apparently there was just like an eleven year old girl home who thought we were burglars so she called her mom who then called the cops...and we assumed no one was home so we kept Knocking after that door and then suddenly we saw a cop car driving by and we were like "hmm I wonder were they're going" and then it stopped right in front of our car and we were like "oh that's where they're going" so we went over to talk with the cop and he was just like "you guys with latter day Saints" And we said yes and he was basically like understood have a nice day. And that was that basically

Let the Holy Spirit guide:
Well on Friday me and Elder Cook were driving from service to go contact this one lady who we had talked to once before but suddenly Elder Cook pulled over and was like we need to knock here so we did. We sang to a bunch of people which really seemed to be a good way to start the conversation because we then taught the restoration like a couple times...but that's not even the miracle but just as some background a couple weeks ago we had met with member who had told us about one of his coworkers who had recently lost her mom and he was trying to help her but being the manager it felt weird for him to talk about it. Well we knocked on this ladies door...we didn't plan on knocking on her door, it was completely by chance that we knocked on her door...we didn't know where she lived so it was completely random. Well of course it wasn't random it was obviously the spirit! It was so crazy! But we prayed with her and she didn't seem like she wasn't interested but she was in a hurry but it was really awesome!
Scripture of the Week:
Mark 8: 1-9
These verses are really awesome, it's when Jesus feeds the four thousand. I really loved them because even though there was very little food Christ was able to make it more then enough. It reminded me of how sometimes our efforts seem small or insignificant but with Christ's help he canal them more then enough
Well that's all for this week! Love you all! Remember I'm cheering you all on! Keep rocking it!
