21 Weeks, 3 Transfers, and Goodbye Papa

 


Well we got our transfer news on Saturday and it is with great sorrow that I must say goodbye to my daddy, Elder Cook ðŸ¤§ðŸ¥ºðŸ˜­ but this week was a great week though! Here's some stories, miracles and a few updates on our friends:


MIRACLES OF THE WEEK:

Ricks: 
Well we've been trying to talk with this one guy who's named Rick, which his story alone is kinda a miracle because we tracted into him and he said we could come back cause he was curious. But anyways we went and knocked on his door and Rick answered but not the original Rick but his dad Rick. Anyways we talked with him for a bit and he said we could come back Saturday and we went back on Saturday and got to talk to both Ricks it was awesome!!

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ:
On Friday we gave away five copies of the BoM! To put that in perspective we have given only like 2 BoMs away the rest of out time here combined! So it was pretty amazing!! And everyone who took one actually seemed pretty happy to take it, it was awesome!! 

Tracting Miracle!:
We were knocking some doors and it was pretty late and cold which usually leads to very little success when knocking but we knocked on the one door and this guy answers the door and literally without us even introducing ourselves says "come in its cold out there" so obviously we go in, I think he's about to murder us ðŸ˜‚ not really, but it doesn't happen very often that people just let you in, so that was kinda a miracle on its own! But we also taught this guy about kinda how we believe in 3 different glories because he asked about it and he actually seemed to accept it and he said we could come back again! So please send some prayers for Richard!
 
FRIEND UPDATES: 

Mildred and Jaime:
These two are doing really good! We went over on Saturday and taught about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and also invited them to be baptized and they were hesitant at first but they said they'd pray about a date that they could start preparing for so that was super awesome!! Please please send prayers for these two!!

Robert:
Robert is doing good he's really loved reading in the BoM and he keeps wanting to meet so that's very good!! Please keep him in your prayers to, our next step is getting him to come to church! 

Theresa: 
Theresa is doing so good! She's so happy to have us over every time and she loves learning! We taught the Restoration last time we went over there and holy moly the spirit was so strong it was crazy! Like holy cow an amazing lesson!! We're meeting with her again tomorrow! Please pray for her too!




DOPE STORIES:

Last Pday:
We went to the Speedway that is here in Indy, its the race track for the Indy 500! Or for the more cultured people the race track in Turbo! It was so dope, I may even include some pics in this email because it was that dope! Gotta kiss the bricks and everything! It was pretty legendary and I may even say worth coming back to Indiana for (looking at you Dad ðŸ˜‚). 

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: 
"This is a paradox of man: compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are everything to God" (You Matter to Him). 
You guys matter so much to our Heavenly Father!! You're so loved and you our cared for!! Don't forget it!!

 That's right folks, only four days left till I enter the field and I couldn't be more pumped. I am gonna miss my freaking awesome district though, no cap. but there's actually a few stories from this week so buckle up folks this email might be the longest one yet, a whole two paragraphs. Kickball: On Friday we played kickball with another district who was in our residency building just across the hall from us and it was tons of fun, but we lost miserably by like fifteen points. But I still had tons of fun. Miracle Muncie Baby!!

  Henlo everyone this week was pretty cool and Good I'd say. We had some pretty dope miracles met with most of our friends, planning on putting some people on date this next week...so like things are on the up and up over here! Here's some stuff MIRACLES: First Floor Last Door: We went knocking right before a lesson at this one apartment complex that was really close to the lesson and holy smokes   so we were knocking and kinda had a rough start but we knock on this one guys door, his name is Terry. We asked if he'd wanna hear a message and he was like "sure" so like usual we checked to see if we heard him right and then taught the restoration to him, gave him a Book of Mormon, asked if we could come back and he said yes. So were going back on Saturday! First p day

Hey everyone well it's only been three days but it feels like a lot has happened in just those three days, I met my district and comp and they're all really awesome people! My companion is Elder Kennedy and he is super chill. I can't wait to meet everyone in person though when I go to the Provo MTC this Wednesday, because right now it still feels kind of weird being at home even though I've been set apart as a missionary, I don't know quite how to explain it but it feels very surreal. Monday it felt like I was almost dreaming, because I've been anxiously waiting for this day to finally come for like a long time and now that it's here it feels so weird.  I know God loves you all and that He can help us through any trials we're facing, he's helped me a lot adjusting to missionary life!
